Dandelion Medicine

Dandelion Medicine.

“Dandelion Medicine” is an imaginative children’s book, weaving in education with adventure. This book is the first in the series and is perfect for children between the ages of 3-10 years old. It is my hope that it will inspire both you as the parent/guardian and your child to become inquisitive and curious about what is growing in your own local environment today!

This delightful tale has been officially released as of May 27, 2021. I hope you all get much enjoyment from the story and any herbal adventures that result from reading it with your loved ones! Happy Reading!

Inspiring our kids to care for our planet is important.

Make a wish.

Go outside today with your loved ones, engage them in their natural surroundings and make a wish upon a Dandelion. The seeds you blow will be carried by the wind, as too will your wish. They will be carried to near and far-reaching places, and just like the seed, your wish will find a place to land, and with the right care, it will grow and bloom into something spectacular, just like the Dandelion.

What people are saying about this Herbal Adventures Series of Books

  • “I have just read Alyson Maier’s second book Plantain Medicine, the follow up to Dandelion medicine and what an absolutely delightful way to share with our children the ancient wisdom of plant medicine. My little friends that I shared the story with loved the adventures of the superbly illustrated characters and were so excited about going out into nature to discover the plants and create their own medicines. Led to a wonderful discussion on when to eave it in the Earth, knowing it’s there for when it is needed. I highly recommend this series and look forward to book 3 and 4 coming out soon.”

  • "Frankly, they should be on the curriculum, developing minds and keeping the importance of herbs alive”. (For the full review article log onto the Herb Society’s website by cutting and pasting the following URL https://herbsociety.org.uk/book-reviews/danelion-medicine-plantain-medicine

  • I had to share: The other day I purchased her Yarrow medicine after she asked about “helpful plants.” Today she came running inside after playing and told me she was bleeding but she wanted to go back outside and try a yarrow spit poultice. So I showed her the yarrow in my garden and handed her some leaves. She made a poultice, put it on the wound. We talked a few moments and when she looked down she yelled “it stopped the bleeding! It worked!!” The look in her eyes was pure wonder. Thank you for writing your books, I can not wait to gift her your others.
